DeAnna Dawn is an accomplished singer-songwriter, musician/actress who has an artistic fire inside of her that can not be extinguished and must be shared with the world.
A Georgia native, who has also lived in Los Angeles, DeAnna aspires for her name to be linked with pioneer greats Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, Bob Marley and Nina Simone. Her upcoming lead single from the cd 'Dawn of a Nu Day' shows off DeAnna’s first soft, then powerful voice, and with its driving bass line mixed with hot guitar riffs you can understand why she lists her musical influences as Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Pat Benatar and Minnie Riperton.
As well as being an accomplished singer-guitar player, DeAnna can also be seen on television and the big screen in such movies as How I Spent My Summer Vacation, Juwanna Mann, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Family Reunion, and as 'Ruby' in The Fantasia Barrino story.
How appropriate that DeAnna was part of the Chrysalis/EMI recording group GUMBO (performed on Soul Train, BET’s Teen Summit and Rap City), produced by Speech of Arrested Development, because GUMBO is the perfect way to describe this beautiful and talented lady. Her style and grace transcend beyond all gender, racial, social and economic barriers.
DeAnna Dawn is definitely an entertainment force to be reckoned with and she is taking the world by storm.
